The small town of Pisz is a central starting point for many hikes in the expansive forest landscape. The flat paths are also excellent for mountain biking tours. The combination of a hiking trip through the forest and relaxation at one of the countless lakes of the Masurian Lake District is appealing.
Various hiking trails lead through the Kampinos Forest, which was declared a national park in 1959. The tour through the eastern forest area measures around 17 kilometers in length. You start in Dziekanow Lesny and follow the path into a pine forest. Soon you reach a mixed forest with dunes and swamp areas.
The Zubra footbridge is the starting point of this short tour, which leads through the wetlands of the Bialowieza Forest. There is a parking lot on the road between Bialowieza and Budy. As you walk along wooden walkways past mighty ash, alder, and spruce trees, you listen to the chirping of rare birds.
The ascent to the Wielka Sowa takes place via the southern slope. You pass by the Bismarck Lodge, which was built in the 1930s. The Carl Wiesen Monument can be seen nearby. It is dedicated to the factory owner who provided the land for the lodge.
The promising hike begins at the Siwa Polana meadow. There are souvenir stands here. Initially, it goes on an asphalt road into the valley. Now it goes into the forest. The hike leads through the breathtaking Tatra National Park. At the end of the Dudowa Valley, the Droga pod Reglami trail starts.
It is particularly popular to go from Bielsko up to the summit of Szyndzielnia. Here, you reach the ridge of the Kamitzer Platte and look far over the hills and valleys of the Silesian Beskids. Just below the summit, a lookout tower and a mountain hut await the guests.
Your hike begins at the parking lot at the ticket office of the Karkonosze National Park in Karpacz. First, follow the yellow trail marker leading to Slonecznik. Continue towards Schneekoppe, the highest peak in the region at 1,603 meters. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the Czech Republic and Poland.
