"La Fonte", 3-room apartment 40 m2, on the ground floor. Rustic furnishings: small entrance hall. Living room, without window. 1 double bedroom. Kitchenette (4 hot plates, mini-oven, electric coffee machine). Shower/bidet/WC. Gas heating.

House/Residence

Old semi-detached house. In the centre of Volterra, excellent location: right in the centre but still quiet, in a cul-de-sac. Public parking 300 m on the road. Shop 100 m, supermarket 1 km, restaurant 100 m, pedestrian zone 50 m, bus stop 100 m, thermal baths 20 km. The apartment is located in a zone with limited traffic.

Location Description Volterra

530 m a.s.l. >>Important, historical, quiet resort with 11'200 inhabitants, in the western part of the region 40 km from the sea, on top of a hill, south facing position with beautiful view, 48 km north-west from Siena, 65 km south-east from Pisa, 75 km south-west from Firenze. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Situated in an elevated panoramic position over the hilly Valle di Cecina countryside, Volterra has a marvellous Old Town with evidence from several bygone eras. It was one of the Etruscan capitals, even retaining part of the old wall. The Guarnacci museum has one of the best collections of Etruscan artwork. Volterra is also well-known for the processing of alabaster.

The apartment you rent is NOT the one pictured. Upon entering there is a very strong odor of mist and dampness which permeates your clothing, including those in your suitcase. A floor fan would have done a long way to alleviate this. Sheets of very low thread count. For us - we needed Wi-fi and a/c. Great location though!!

Thank you for the comments. On the occasion that guests come across some inconveniences, please notify the keyholder immediately for a quick resolve. That said, the owner has taken steps to improve ventilation and reduce dampness.
