Location Description Killaloe

Small, family-friendly, picturesque resort directly by the Lough Derg, 23 km north-east from Limerick, 90 km south-east from Galway. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Located next to its twin town Ballina, Killaloe is situated by the beautiful Lough Derg with its magnificent scenery and wildlife. The town offers a vast array of activities on land and water, historic sites and a bustling nightlife. It is made up of charming narrow streets, flanked by old shops along the steep hill looking down over the 13th century cathedral. Killaloe was home to Brian Boru, the High King who united Ireland against the Vikings, check Brian Boru Festival every yearin mid-July with traditional music, dancing and festivities. Amongst the amenities, a number of excellent golf courses and numerous walks and trails in the immediate surroundings and nearby in The Burren Region.
