Beautiful residence "Le Grand Ermitage", 4 storeys. 32 apartments in the residence. 800 m from the centre of Châtel, 40 km from the centre of Evian-les-Bains, 72 km from the centre of Genève, 800 m from the skiing area. In the complex: reception, internet access, WiFi, storage room for skis, washing machine (for shared use, extra). Supermarket 3.2 km. Ski lift 500 m, slopes 800 m, ski bus stop 200 m. Location Description Châtel

1'200 - 2'200 m a.s.l. >>Family-friendly mountain village, summer holiday resort and winter sports resort with 1'212 inhabitants, 71 km south from Genève, 115 km north-east from Annecy, 224 km north-east from Lyon. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Disco, concerts, evening entertainment, cinema. Access: railway station "Thonon-les-bains" 40 km. Bus connection. The resort is situated in one of the largest areas in Europe, the Portes du Soleil. Avoriaz can be reached via the ski runs. From geneva (TGV) : by coach Génève-Thonon then Thonon-Châtel. By train : Annemasse - Thonon then Thonon-Châtel by coach.

Heated outdoor swimming pool. Waterpark"Acquapark" in 37 km. Sports harbour in 40 km. Sailing, sailing school, water skiing, canoeing, river rafting. Tennis, golf course 9 hole in Chatel, 1 another golf course in 40 - 45 km. Minigolf. Riding in Chatel. Fitness course. Fishing (permit required). Paragliding, summer tobbogan run, total 3 mountain lifts and cableways. Mountain hikes, climbing. Mountain bike routes, bicycles and mountain bikes for hire. Children's playground. International competitions, many festivals in the French and Swiss villages in the surrounding area. Discover the Fantasticable where you fly at 100 km over the Pre La Joux area. It is possible to sample the local cuisine in the mountain guest houses.

Winter

Chatel is links the 12 Swiss and French Portes du Soleil ski resorts. Calais 806 km. Resort is scheduled to close 25Apr 2010. Ski-region Les Portes du Soleil, total of 234 lifts. 276 ski runs, total length 650 km, snowboard slope, snow park. Ski school (downhill, cross country), snowboard school, children's ski school from 3 years old, ski kindergarten from 1 year old. 30 km cross country ski tracks in the region, ski walking paths, winter walking paths. Toboggan runs. Ice rink. Ski bus (free of charge). Further ski-regions: Morgins at 5 km, Avoriaz at 2 km, Morzine at 8 km.

Spacious flat on two floors. Two bathrooms with separate toilets. Large kitchen/social space, with veranda. Lift to all floors including underground carpark. Bus to Gabelou lift only about 50 yards away, with a ten minute walk to town. Fifteen minutes back as slightly uphill!. Very poor WiFi as it seems to be through another portal. It is advertised as for eight people, but two would have to sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge.

Beste, We zijn net terug van onze vakantie en zijn ronduit ontevreden. Een van de reden dat we voor deze accomodatie hebben gekozen is het zwembad en de wellness. Daar aangekomen blijkt dat deze al bijna 2 jaar buiten gebruik zijn vanwege een brand. Dat staat nergens vermeld. Maar was wel de reden dat we deze accomodatie hebben gekozen. We gaan dan ook stappen ondernemen en verwachten compensatie voor de geleden schade...

Wohnung hielt was in der Beschreibung besprochen wurde. Zu 7. gut bewohnbar. Keinerlei Probleme während des Aufenthalts. Vor der Anlage direkt eine Bushaltestelle.

Die Wohnung liegt günstig in der Nähe der Schibusshaltestelle. Im Preis inbegriffen ist ein Tiefgaragenplatz, von dort sind die Wohnungen über einen Aufzug erreichbar. Das Ortszentrum (Bäckerei) ist zu Fuß in 10 Min. erreichbar. Die Wohnung ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet, die Betten sehr gut. Die Küche ist für bis zu acht Personen sehr klein und einfach ausgestattet. Leider fehlt ein richtiger Backofen und eine Beleuchtung der kleinen Arbeitsfläche. Die Stühle sind sehr einfach und z.T. wackelig.
