Your hike begins in the village of Hvar and leads along the coast. Take a break in the small, cozy bays. The hiking route is also suitable for bird watching. In many parts, the route is dog-friendly, and four-legged friends can even run off-leash in certain areas.
At the northern edge of the Croatian capital, the Medvednica Mountain rises up to 1,032 meters as a popular hiking and recreational area. One of its most beautiful hikes is the Miroslavec educational trail. This trail runs through the oldest part of the nature park, where informative signs provide insights into the prehistoric rock types and fossils of the mountain region.
The route from Brgudac via Korita to Veliki Planik is particularly popular. The hiking trail is well signposted and a total of 11.3 km long, so you will probably be on the road for around 4 hours. On the circular route, you will pass more than 600 meters in altitude and a variety of scenic highlights.
Mount Srđ, with unforgettable panoramic views of the red sea of roofs of Dubrovnik, the blue Adriatic, and the surrounding islands, is one of the highlights of the city. The Pile Gate at the western entrance of the Old Town is a suitable starting point for a hike up the over 400-meter-high hill.
The best starting point for the approximately 2.5-hour hike to the summit is the entrance to the well-known seaside resort of Bol. The well-marked trail initially leads over the Vela staza, a historic Roman road. In several comfortable switchbacks, you climb a rugged gorge, pass steep rock cliffs at the top, and finally reach the ridge of Vidova Gora.
The route from the old town of Paklenica to Mirila is very popular. Here you pass the 410 m high mountain peak of Mali Vitrenik, from which you can enjoy a wide panoramic view. The shortest route is 2.6 km long, but due to the 175 meters of elevation, you are on the road for a good hour.
One of the most popular hikes in the national park is the trail from Skradin to Skradinsky Buk, the longest and most impressive waterfall in the park. The trail runs along the northern bank of the Krka. After about an hour, you reach the boat dock and just behind it, the falls. Here begins a 4 km long, eventful circular route.
