Jungfraujoch

The Jungfraujoch is referred to as the "Top of Europe" because it is home to the highest railway station in Europe. With the Jungfrau Railway, you can travel from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch. From the station, you can reach the top of the Sphinx rock summit by elevator. At Jungfraujoch, you will find a restaurant and the Ice Palace carved into the glacier ice. From the observation deck, you are offered a magnificent view of the mountain landscape, with visibility extending to neighboring countries.

In summer, the Männlichen's sun playground is a popular family meeting point. Marvel at the 8.5 m high giant cow at the Sennenspielplatz. On the Öpfelchüechliweg, you can learn interesting facts about the apple. The Romantic Trail leads through enchanting alpine flower meadows and pastures. The Männlichen is part of the Grindelwald-Wengen ski area. The youngest learn to make their first turns in the snow at the Männlichen ski school. It's fun on the toboggan runs. The longest one leads over 5.5 km to Holenstein.

Wengen Village

At an altitude of 1,274 meters, Wengen rises above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The traditional Alpine village is only accessible by cog railway and, with its tranquil atmosphere, is a paradise for families and active vacationers who want to relax in the fresh mountain air. In the summer months, Wengen is a good starting point for hikes to the Jungfraujoch or into the Lauterbrunnen Valley with its rushing waterfalls. In winter, the village invites you to ski. The Jungfrau region offers 250 km of ski slopes of all difficulty levels, as well as snow hiking trails and toboggan runs.

Staubbach Falls

From the parking lot, you reach the foot of the Staubbach Falls via a paved path that is also suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Those who want to get closer can hike up a narrow footpath with stairs. A tunnel leads behind the waterfall. In the village, restaurants and cafes invite you to enjoy Swiss specialties. The Staubbach Falls can be easily combined with a hike through the Lauterbrunnen Valley or a cable car ride from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren. Here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain panorama.

Schynige Platte

The Schynige Platte near Interlaken is an alpine paradise. Situated between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, it is ideal for extensive hikes. From the ridge, you can see the valley of the Schwarze Lütschine as well as the trio "Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau." From Wilderswil, the cogwheel train takes you to the Schynige Platte. Worth seeing is the alpine garden near the mountain station, which includes several hundred native plant species. From the mountain station, a high-altitude trail leads over the Faulhorn to the First near Grindelwald.

Trümmelbach Falls

Since its opening in 1877, the Trümmelbach Falls have been a popular excursion destination. The impressive waterfall cascades over ten stages, plunging 140 meters into the depths. The water originates from the glacier walls of Jungfrau, Eiger, and Mönch. During the snowmelt, 20,000 liters of water roar through the gorge per second. You can reach the waterfalls via a lift, a hiking trail with stairs and bridges. You have a beautiful view of the spectacle from the terrace of the self-service restaurant.

Isenfluh

Fantastic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau await you in the original mountain village of Isenfluh above Wengen in the Bernese Oberland. Numerous charming hiking trails run around Isenfluh. One of them leads to the tiny hamlet of Sulwald, which you can reach on foot or by the nostalgic cable car from Isenfluh.

Alpine Wildlife Park Interlaken

The Alpine Wildlife Park Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland is located in close proximity to the valley station of the Harder-Kulm cable car. We owe the reintroduction of the ibex to it. Today, one can encounter ibexes and marmots here while enjoying the charming view over Lake Thun and Lake Brienz as well as the Alps.

Mürrenbach Falls

The Mürrenbachfall near Wengen in the Bernese Oberland plunges down in five cascades. Especially after the snowmelt and after summer thunderstorms, the 417 m high waterfall – the highest in Switzerland – offers a particularly spectacular sight. It is located not far from the valley station of the cable car to Mürren.

Schynige Platte

Day 1

Upon arrival, start with an initial exploration of Wengen. The small holiday resort in the Bernese Oberland has about 1,000 inhabitants and delights visitors with its rustic alpine-style houses while strolling around. Along the village street, you'll find smaller shops and restaurants, always with the impressive mountain scenery of the Jungfrau region in view. A nice feature is that Wengen is a car-free area, allowing you to fully enjoy nature. After arriving by train, you can get around on foot or by gondola. Those who want to go high up on the first day can take the cable car from the village center up to the 2,342-meter-high Männlichen. From the mountain station, varied hiking trails lead up to the summit and around it, both in summer and for a snow hike in winter.

Day 2

On the second day, pack your hiking backpack for hikes in the Jungfrau region during the warmer season. From peak to peak, you will follow a charming panoramic trail from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg. You start again with the gondola ride up to the Wengen local mountain Männlichen. Here begins the leisurely hike down to the pass height Kleine Scheidegg at 2,061 m. The relaxed path for occasional hikers and families measures 4.5 km. If you wish, you can hike the same path back with a very gentle elevation difference. Alternatively, the cogwheel train and the train via Wengernalp will take you back to Wengen. Both peaks are part of the Jungfrau Ski Region Grindelwald - Wengen. In winter, they are a paradise for skiing and snowboarding. Overall, the ski area has 160 kilometers of slopes. These are mostly distributed over slopes with easy and medium difficulty levels, making the ski area particularly attractive for winter sports beginners and families.

Day 3

On the third day, discover some of the most beautiful natural highlights around your holiday resort Wengen. This definitely includes the Staubbach Falls in the neighboring Lauterbrunnen during your summer vacation. The waterfall plunges almost 300 meters vertically down rugged rock walls. The hike along narrow paths through a rock gallery is already a highlight. No less spectacular are the roaring Trümmelbach Falls. The ten glacier waterfalls run partly underground in a rock gorge as a special feature. A tunnel lift takes you down to the waterfalls in a spectacular way, which are accessible from spring to autumn. The Fallbodensee near Wengen makes a beautiful photo motif. The peaks of the distinctive mountains Eiger and Mönch are reflected in it as a photogenic highlight. Both in summer and winter, the lake, which serves as a water reservoir, is a popular destination for an easy hike with the whole family.
