The Costa del Sol in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia is one of the country's most popular holiday destinations. Malaga

Ideally, you can make your vacation in one of our accommodations in Malaga diverse. On the Costa del Sol, you will find rich cultural treasures that you can combine with your beach holiday. After a day at the beach at Playa Real in Zaragoza, historical jewels like the Colomares Castle in Benalmádena await you. In this castle, you will feel transported to the Middle Ages as you stroll through the garden of the fairytale castle. The Gibralfaro Mountain with its namesake Castillo is also a highlight for a detour. Marvel at the old city fortress Alcazaba and visit the Picasso Museum in the magnificent old town.

Marbella

The old town of Marbella is characterized by many small restaurants, some of which have been in operation for decades and serve delicacies from the local cuisine. Stroll through the narrow streets and from there continue to the Puerto Banús marina. Other attractions in the center include the Arab wall and the town hall. The biggest attraction for many travelers is the beautiful sandy beach that stretches along the Mediterranean coast and invites sunbathing, swimming, and various water sports. Between May and September, the conditions are perfect for swimming and diving. After the activities, the chic beach bars offer refreshment.

Nerja

Among the churches of Nerja, the Iglesia del Salvador from the 17th century stands out. Artistic murals adorn its interior. The history museum presents exciting collections from prehistoric times to the present. Follow the pedestrian zone to the "Balcony of Europe," a viewing platform 60 meters above the sea with magnificent panoramic views. Near Nerja, the small town of Maro attracts visitors with one of Spain's most beautiful stalactite caves. Additionally, stone tools, paintings, and ceramics from prehistoric times were found in it. You can admire these in the history museum of Nerja. On weekends in July, the atmospheric music and dance festival Cueva de Nerja takes place in the cave.

Benalmadena

Benalmádena Pueblo, which means old town, spoils you with cozy coffee houses and a fantastic view over the picturesque coast. During a visit to the butterfly park, you can admire hundreds of tropical butterfly species. A special experience is a ride on the cable car, which takes you to the top of Mount Calamorro. Benalmádena's beaches meet many criteria that ensure a wonderful vacation with the whole family. Shallow, white sandy beaches, crystal-clear sea, and dense vegetation create a paradisiacal ambiance. Active vacationers can rent a stand-up paddleboard at Playa Los Álamos or view the scenery from the water with a kayak.

Fuengirola

Fuengirola is located near Málaga right on the coast and boasts a great beach on the sun-drenched Costa del Sol. The small town is characterized by historical sights such as the Plaza de la Constitución and picturesque alleys. With its white houses, it offers the typical Andalusian atmosphere. In addition, you will find plenty of sports and leisure activities in Fuengirola, such as golf, horseback riding, sailing, boating, or diving. There is a zoo and a water park to discover. Added to this are cultural and culinary highlights, especially in the form of numerous fish specialties and excellent wines from the region.

Estepona

Estepona is located in the province of Málaga in southern Spain and is characterized by its diverse historical architecture and the typically cozy flair of Andalusian villages. The historic and renovated old town enchants with idyllic squares, picturesque white houses, and many flower pots in front. In addition, there are art routes with sculptures and murals. Furthermore, Estepona also offers a wide range of sports and leisure activities, has several golf courses, and a rich offering of culture and culinary specialties. Additionally, the natural landscape of Sierra Bermeja nearby attracts with wonderful excursions, including a breathtaking view from the summit of Pico de los Reales.

Torremolinos

In the evening, life pulses on the chic promenade and in the shopping street Calle San Miguel with its many small shops. A light Andalusian flair also characterizes the cozy restaurants and cafes around the clock tower built by the Arabs. Stroll past venerable noble houses to the Castle of Santa Clara. A feast for lovers of exotic plants is the Molino de Inca Botanical Garden, a few kilometers away. Over 300 trees from all continents await you. If you are in Torremolinos at the end of September, don't miss the cheerful Feria. People wear traditional clothing, and traditional folk music resounds in the streets.

Torrox Costa

Torrox-Costa was a former Roman trading city. Even today, ruins of thermal baths and a necropolis can be visited. Tourism has a greater influence on the cityscape. The promenade, streets, and green areas appear very well-maintained. Along the promenade, you will find numerous restaurants, shops, and bars alongside the palm trees. Bathers can enjoy a sandy beach over 2 km long, Playa Ferrara. A beautiful excursion destination outside of Torrox-Costa is the impressive Nerja cave with its historical rock paintings. The cave is walkable and secured, making it suitable for a family outing.

The Costa del Sol rightfully earns its name with over 300 days of sunshine. It boasts a subtropical Mediterranean climate, with an average temperature of about 13 degrees even in winter. Starting in April, you can expect pleasant temperatures up to 22 degrees, and in the summer months, temperatures climb to values between 27 and 35 degrees. For a beach and swimming vacation, you can visit the Sunshine Coast from May well into October. The summers are characterized by dry heat with low humidity, which is perceived as pleasant despite relatively high temperatures.
