Heiligendamm

The town center of Heiligendamm is characterized by its neoclassical buildings, which give the seaside resort an elegant flair. Eight luxurious villas - the so-called "string of pearls" - are lined up near the beach. On the beach, you can bask in the sun or rent a SUP to glide elegantly through the waves. An absolute must during your vacation in Heiligendamm is a ride on the narrow-gauge railway Molli. Afterwards, a trip to the Ghost Forest with its approximately 170-year-old trees is worthwhile. Among the trees are two jewels of neo-Gothic architecture, the Evangelical Forest Church and the Sacred Heart Chapel.

Binz

Since the beginning of the 20th century, Binz has been one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea. The magnificent villas in the spa style, which is characteristic of the region, bear witness to this time. But Binz also has another side: In the 1930s, the so-called Colossus of Prora was built here. The gigantic complex was intended to accommodate 20,000 people on vacation at the same time. The Colossus of Prora was never completed and is now one of the most important sights of the Baltic Sea resort. A trip to the nearby Granitz Hunting Lodge, located in the midst of an idyllic forest area, is also worthwhile.

Timmendorfer Strand

The highlight of the Baltic Sea resort is the New Spa Park. Here is the Drinking Hall, also known as the Rotunda, which serves as a meeting point for locals and visitors alike. After a walk through the spa park, you can stroll over the Maritim Pier, which owes its name to the famous Maritim Hotel. In front of the pier stands the sculpture of the panic rocker Udo Lindenberg, who often and gladly stays in Timmendorfer Strand. Also worth a visit is the bird park in the Niendorf district. The owl collection includes around 150 animals from 47 species, making it the most extensive of its kind in the world.

Prerow

Even before the reunification, Prerow was referred to as the "Mallorca of the GDR." Since then, the flow of visitors has not decreased, as the Baltic Sea resort between Rostock and Stralsund is one of Germany's most popular holiday destinations. The street scene is characterized by the thatched captain's houses, whose carved front doors are colorfully and artistically painted. Visit the Darß Museum, dedicated to local shipping, and take a hike to the lighthouse at Darßer Ort. From the Saaler Bodden, ships embark on a tour where you can also observe nesting cranes. A hidden gem is the primeval Darß Forest west of Prerow.

Ueckermünde

If you are planning a beach holiday in Ueckermünde, the months of July and August are recommended. Then the water warms up to 19°C. The 800 m long, fine sandy beach is a popular meeting place for families. The shore slopes gently, and there are also beach volleyball courts and a playground. In the center of Ueckermünde, many lovingly renovated gabled houses can be seen. Many of the narrow alleys lead to the large market square, and the city harbor is also worth a stroll. If you are in the mood for culture, visit the Pomeranian ducal castle. The view from the castle tower of the surroundings is unique.

Kummerow

With Kummerow Castle, your holiday destination offers a true architectural gem. The magnificent building, constructed in the Baroque style, is now a popular museum where you can admire works by great photographers. On hot summer days, the natural bathing area at Lake Kummerow is a popular meeting point for swimming and splashing around. If you like to explore your holiday region actively, the 45-kilometer circular bike path is ideal. Additionally, there is a well-developed network of hiking trails around the area, leading you through charming villages in the lake region.

Warnemünde

The kilometer-long sandy beach is the biggest attraction. Here you can not only relax and unwind, but also cool off by swimming in the Baltic Sea or try various water sports. From the coast, you have the ideal view of the eastern pier and the historic lighthouse. Stroll along the promenade "Am Strom," lined with numerous fish restaurants, or visit the Warnemünde local history museum to learn more about the town's past. For day trips, the nearby Rostock is recommended, where the St. Mary's Church, built in 1256, and the Kröpeliner Street are considered landmarks.
