  • Migros is Switzerland’s largest retail company, largest supermarket chain and the country’s biggest employer. 
  • Founded in 1925 in Zurich by Gottlieb Duttweiler, the company continues to be a highly successful cooperative society, with it’s recognisable large orange “M” logo, seen throughout Switzerland.  
  • Early expansion by Duttweiler in 1935 founded the Hotelplan Travel Agency and, later, other ventures such as restaurants, petrol stations, a weekly magazine, bank and even an insurance company. 
  • Migros is a supermarket chain owned by its customers, with more than 90% of the goods sold by the chain produced by 90 subsidiaries of Migros.
  • Interhome AG is 100% owned by Hotelplan Holding AG, which, in turn is 100% owned by Migros.
