Small, picturesque resort, in the south-western part of the region, on a river, 14 km south from Barnstaple, 86 km west from Taunton, 66 km north-west from Exeter. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Appledore activities 7 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Exeter (1) 66 km, Bristol (2) 163 km. Antique markets, cattle market every Tuesday, Victoria Park, Art Gallery and Museum, Tarka cyclepath through the Torridge Valley. Many lovely sandy beaches within easy reach such as Westward Ho, Saunton and Croyde. Golf course nearby and surfing, sailing, canoeing in Appledore. Also to visit: Milky Way Adventure Park, Pottery, Crystal factory, Tarka line railway. Boat trips to Lundy Island.
