Travel Guide Bradenton

Further information on the country USA

Climate
South of Tampa Bay and across the Manatee River lies Bradenton, where one of the first Spanish explorers, Hernando de Soto, set foot in Florida in 1539. This lively town maintains a lower profile than the sophisticated city of Sarasota about 10 miles to the South, but also has its share of sandy beaches, golf courses and historic sites. The barrier island, Anna Maria with it's popular Holmes Beach, sits off the mainland to the West and fronts the Gulf of Mexico. Bradenton Beach attracts visitors of all ages and offers many water sports and other leisure activities.
