Fethiye is therefore the southern most holiday resort of the Turkish Aegean. The area has developed in a particular way under the influence of tourism. Traditional agriculture is still an important economic factor which one can experience at the different markets in the area. In Fethiye, the harbour and marina have in particular developed as tourist magnets. The Old Town can be directly reached a few steps away from the promenade and the harbour. Well-known places include Oludeniz, Kayakoy (the forsaken town), Saklikent (canyon), rocky valleys. For arrivals by plane: airport Dalaman (DLM) 70 km.
