515 m. >>Quiet resort with 2'400 inhabitants, in the north-eastern part of the region, 40 km north-east from Plasencia, 130 km north-east from Cáceres, 60 km south from Béjar (Salamanca). Supermarket, shops, bar, attractions. Access: access via a road. Railway station "Béjar". For arrivals by plane: airport Madrid Barajas (MAD). Situated in the middle of the Jerte valley, famous for its pretty flowering cherry trees. The town has been declared a historic/artistic area. Founded in the middle ages, its narrow and winding streets stretch over hillsides. In the valley, rich in flora and fauna, you can see the harbours of Tornavacas and Honduras, the Caozo waterfalls, the Reserve Natural and the Garganta de los Infiernos. There are many activities and a natural swimming pool in the town.
