The Sudete Mountains form a natural border between Poland and the Czech Republic, and partly with Germany. The highest and most beautiful range is Karkonosze, which in the old days used to be called Gory Olbrzymie (Giant Mountains). From its highest peak, the Sniezka, on a clear night, one can see the city lights of Prague. In the Sudetes, there are various mineral waters. The whole -region has great tourisitc and health values. Hiking trails lead through the mountains and in winter, there are many ski-runs and cross-country ski trails.
