The Bialowieza forest is the largest in the whole of Europe. It includes a nature reserve of 4747 ha, the Gluszec reserve 122 ha and Wilczy Szlak 48 hs. The Bialowieza forest is rich in flora and fauna: pine, oak, maple, lime and hornbeam trees grow there. Animals include wolves, auerochs (bison), red deer, fallow deer, beavers, lynx, otters, stoats, wild boar, elks and over 7000 different bird varieties. The Bialowieski forest is well-known in Europe; nature-lovers and hunters are particularly impressed with the region. Another attraction is the "Kraftort", a round stone with a strong magnetic field which has a positive impact on the human body (1 km from Bialowieza). The energy released aids tiredness and pain. Hajnowka 21 km. Bielsk Podlaski 48 km. Bialystok 90 km. Well-known resort, 20 km east from Hajnówka, 50 km east from Bielsk Podlaski, 85 km south-east from Białystok. In the resort: shops, grocers, restaurant, bar. More possibilities for shopping and entertainments 20 - 85 km. Access: railway station "Hajnówka" 20 km. Bus service. For arrivals by plane: airport Warszawa (WAW) 240 km.
