Family friendly holiday resort, in the countryside, 22 km north-east from Cavan, 110 km north-west from Dublin, 128 km south-west from Belfast. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: motorway N3 Dublin. For arrivals by plane: airport Dublin (DUB) 91 km. Nearby attraction are the Giants Causeway, Ulster Folk Park, Marble Arch Caves, Belleek potteries and the scenic west coast with the charming towns of Donegal and Sligo. Bangor and Newcastle -typical Irish coastal resorts - are also nearby and Newgrange in the Boyne valley offers an insight into Ireland's historical past. Cootehill is also a notable fishing centre, with 30 fishing lakes within a 23 km radius and a cycling and walking tours destination, with routes of historical interest including monuments and churches dating back to 4000 BC. The surrounding area boasts a variety of wildlife, forest parks and great scenery, fabulous for children and nature lovers alike.
