”Abruzzi” owes its name to the aridity and wilderness of this mountain chain, -forming, together with ”Gran Sasso” (2914 m), part of the Apennines. One can walk for miles on end crossing the meadows and vast conifer forests. The region of Molise extends from the high plateau in the hinterland to the Adriatic Sea, where the well-appreciated bathing resort of Termoli is to be found.
