>>The town of Roland, Belgern is a well-known holiday resort with 5000 inhabitants, in the north-eastern part of the region, 15 km south from Torgau, 20 km west from Bad Liebenwerda, 25 km north from Oschatz. In the resort: supermarket, shops, butchers, bakers, restaurant. Access: railway station "Torgau" 15 km. Bus service. Belgern is famous for its statue of Roland holding a torch (only in Germany) and its historical houses around the square. The park "Dohnerpark" is lovely for escaping and walking. Belgern is also the door to the Dahlener Heide with a network of 380 km of cycle paths and walking paths. For arrivals by plane: airport Leipzig (LEJ) 80 km, Dresden (DRS) 80 km, Berlin/Tegel (TXL) 150 km.
