Climate
Sauerland, situated east of Cologne, is a densely wooded region popular with tourists all year round. It is distinguished by the massif of Rothaar, with its ridges covered with beech and conifers, reaching an altitude of 841 m at Kahlen Asten. A number of dams are also found in this mountainous region.
