Further information on the country Belgium

Climate
French is not the sole language spoken in the region of Liege; a small population of Germans live in this area (the eastern cantons), with towns close to the border, notably, Malmedy, Eupen and St-Vith. The nature park of Hautes-Fagnes is an integral part of the region, inviting visitors to take walks across the park along its paths. In the surrounding areas, there are also several grottos and -ravines to be found. Liege, the birthplace of Georges Simenon, offers museums, churches, interesting historical buildings and has the largest pedestrian zone _in the whole of Europe. Modave, a few kilometres away, has one of the most -beautiful chateaux of Condroz.
