Climate
The highest and most beautiful mountains of Poland lie in this mountainous area. The highest peak is Rysy (2499 m / 8199 ft. above sea level). The Polish -Ta-tras comprise only about 20% of the whole range, the rest lies in the Slovak Re-pu--blic. The Tatras are a region for hiking, climbing, cycling, exploring caves, paragliding and, in winter, skiing. The most popular and visited places in the -Ta-tras are: Morskie Oko, Kasprowy Wierch (on 1985 m / 6512 ft.) with a cable car going up to its peak: Dolina Koscieliska is charming, with an interesting landscape and with the mountain Giewont (1909 m / 6263 ft.) dominating over Zakopane.
