Burgundy is one of the regions in France, which has much to offer both culturally and historically. Three of the best vineyards in France are found here because of its temperate climate. To the east of Burgundy, Franche-Comte stretches across a large part of French Jura. While the southwest enjoys a mild climate, the rest of the region is acquainted with a mountainous climate, suited for winter sports such as cross-country and alpine skiing.
